Kay Broch

Writer / Producer
BIO

K. Broch (like the old ladies pin) is a queer, mixed, only child raised by a single Chicana mother
in Michigan. Despite dabbling in crime as a teen, she got her ankle tether off just in time to
graduate from Michigan State University and have her very own redemption story. A blog she
wrote in college, landed her a job co-anchoring the marketing team at a billion-dollar company in
Chicago.
In her “emo” phase, she spent her summers as a tour manager on Warped Tour. Her love of
coloring and aesthetic, brought her into the beauty world as a blogger and makeup artist. A
near-death experience catapulted her move to Los Angeles to pursue writing. Her brand Only
Child Syndrome started as a memoir, but she’s since shifted her wild, non-fiction stories to TV
comedies, and launched OCS Productions.
As an organization queen, she’s been a producer and unit production manager on several short
films. Currently, she’s a producer and cohost of the, She Said...Let's! podcast, that highlights
and empowers women in film & TV. K. often tells dark, comedic stories of complex women in an
identity crisis, always finding the good in those who do bad things.

National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) is a woman-led 501(c)(3) non-profit, nonpartisan, civil and human rights organization that was founded to eliminate hate, discrimination, and racism toward Latino and marginalized communities.

We educate and increase Latino visibility from our policy work in Washington, D.C., to our media advocacy work in Hollywood, where we connect, collaborate, and create with talent within the entertainment industry.

We lead the work to eliminate online hate and disinformation across media platforms. We advocate for the Affordable Connectivity Program, Lifeline Program, Net Neutrality protections, and closing the digital divide for Latino and other marginalized communities. NHMC works in partnership with other social justice organizations to safeguard democracy in the United States of America.

NHMC is a not-for-profit, and provides equal opportunities to all individuals without regard to race, religion, national origin, disability, age, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, veteran status, or any other status protected by law
