National Hispanic Media Coalition Congratulates Writers Program Alumna, Silvia Olivas Named Co-Executive Producer of Disney’s Elena of AvalorToday, Disney Channel announced that Silva Olivas was promoted to co-executive producer on Elena of Avalorand the National Hispanic Media Coalition released this statement from president and CEO Alex Nogales: “We congratulate Silvia Olivas on her well-deserved promotion to co-executive producer on Disney Channel’s Elena of Avalor. Silvia is one of a few Latinas that currently fill the ranks of co-executive and executive producing level writing positions in the industry. She is a committed activist and graduate of our TV Writers Program and we are immensely proud of her accomplishments. The award was accepted by creator and executive producer Craig Gerber, and then-co-producer and story editor Silvia Olivas.
