NHMC to be recognized at The Mexican-American Film & TV Festival

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) will be recognized for its media advocacy work and education & workforce development programs in entertainment at the Mexican American Film & Television Festival this weekend. 

Brenda Victoria Castillo, NHMC President and CEO, will be present to accept the recognition along with presenting the award for “Best Screenplay in Film.”

The festival will have a special appearance with 2022 NHMC Impact Awards co-host, Annie Gonzalez aka Judy Montañez in the upcoming Flamin’ Hot film. Gonzalez is also executive producing the Jenni Rivera biopic with Vix, as well as playing Jenni herself![/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image="26642" img_size="medium" alignment="center"][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][nd_options_spacer nd_options_height="15"][vc_column_text]The Mexican-American Cultural Education Foundation (MACEF), celebrates Mexican-American and Chicano filmmaking and the art of storytelling. The annual festival will kick off with this year’s theme of, “Changing the Narrative, Recognizing Who We Are.” The festival will take place at Harmony Gold Theater in Los Angeles over the course of two days, Saturday, May 20th - Sunday, May 21st. Many of the films included in the festival are created by today’s leading Latino artists, along with classics like Cisco Kid and Zoot Suit, which will feature Q&A panels with the cast and crew.
