NHMC Presents at Netroots Nation 2018 along with its Voices For Internet Freedom Allies

On August 2, 2018, the VP of Policy & General Counsel for the National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) moderated a panel discussion at Netroot Nation 2018 in New Orleans, LA. The panel was titled the “FCC’s War on the Poor” and was brought together by the Voices for Internet Freedom. Joseph Torres (Free Press), Erin Shields (Center for Media Justice), Laura Li (18 Million Rising), and Brandi Collins-Dexter (Color Of Change) discussed how the Federal Communications Commission has implemented policies and proposals that disproportionately impact the poor and communities of color. The individuals honed in on three issues: Lifeline, Prison Phones, and Net Neutrality. To watch the full panel discussion, click here.
