NHMC Presents on Digital Inclusion at the Next Century Cities Broadband Summit in Pittsburgh

On July 23, 2018, Francella Ochillo represented the National Hispanic Media Coalition at the Next Century Cities Broadband Summit in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Digital equity advocates, broadband providers, and tech specialists gathered to discuss connectivity obstacles and potential solutions, as well as the need to be inclusive of marginalized communities.  

The Ensuring Digital Equity panel included Bill Callahan, Director, Connect Your Community & Research and Policy Coordinator, National Digital Inclusion Alliance; Dr. Angelique Johnson, CEO and Founder, MEMStim LLC & CEO and Founder, Vissionaireum; Majestic Lane, Deputy Chief of Staff, Mayor William Peduto, City of Pittsburgh; and Liz Lazar, Director of Programs and Partnerships, DigitalC in Cleveland, Ohio. Deb Socia, Next Century Cities’ Executive Director, moderated the discussion as well as the lunch keynote presentation from Mignon Clyburn, Former Chairwoman, Federal Communications Commission.
