NHMC Joins NGO Roundtable to Highlight Work with YouTube Creators

On March 5, 2019, Daiquiri Ryan, Policy Counsel for the National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC), joined creators and policy advocates at YouTube’s Pop Up event in Washington, DC. Daiquiri participated in an NGO Roundtable to talk about how NHMC has partnered with online creators to drive change and raise awareness in an innovative way. During Hispanic Heritage Month in 2018, NHMC teamed up with YouTubers Eddie Garcia and Jorge Narvaezs to talk about how technology and access to the internet has affected their careers, success, and every day lives. This collaboration is a perfect example of how NGOs and nonprofits can partner with YouTubers and other creatives to repackage policy initiatives through storytelling. YouTube’s Pop Up DC event held events from Monday March 4 - Thursday March 7, 2019 at Union Market to discuss the importance of diverse representation online and in policy. NHMC is proud to work with Latinx storytellers and other creators of color to make meaningful change in Washington, DC.

National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) is a woman-led 501(c)(3) non-profit civil and human rights organization that was founded to eliminate hate, discrimination, and racism toward the Latino communities.
