NHMC Honors Commissioner Mignon Clyburn for Her Legacy of Being a Voice for the Voiceless

On May 9, 2018, Commissioner Mignon Clyburn delivered her final speech as a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Commissioner at the First Congregational United Church of Christ. The event was titled, “Where Do We Go From Here? Words from the Conscience of the FCC.” The National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) along with UCC, OC Inc., Common Cause, Benton Foundation, the Center for Media Justice, Free Press, American Library Association, Color Of Change, and Media Democracy Fund sponsored the event.

Commissioner Clyburn’s remarks were a reflection of her years of service and her passion for helping low-income communities and communities of color access affordable communications.

National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) is a woman-led 501(c)(3) non-profit civil and human rights organization that was founded to eliminate hate, discrimination, and racism toward the Latino communities.
