NHMC Continues to Speak Out Against the FCC’s Proposals for Lifeline

NHMC joined advocates, service provides, and subscribers in a Speakout to Save Lifeline organized by Free Press. Gathered outside of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) headquarters in Washington, DC, participants reiterated the need to connect disconnected populations and dire consequences associated with cutting off access. Advocates and lawmakers alike have pushed back on the FCC’s proposals that will surely cripple Lifeline, the only federal telecommunications program that helps provide low-income Americans with access to phone or broadband Internet services.
