PASADENA, Calif. - The National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) sends its condolences to the families of the three lives lost in tragic acts of anti-Semitic violence at two Jewish community centers in Kansas on Sunday, the eve of Passover. The FBI and local authorities are pursuing hate crime charges against the suspect, who has a
long history of hate as the founder and former leader of the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and the White Patriot Party.
The following statement can be attributed to Alex Nogales, NHMC President & CEO:
"This senseless and evil act is a wake-up call to enduring hatred, bias and intolerance in our country. Violence targeting any community affects all communities. NHMC stands in solidarity with the American Jewish community and all other communities to ensure that our laws and our media foster acceptance and respect. Every American, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation, should be able to live free of fear for their safety because of who they are."
