NHMC is adapting our Showcase to the current times! Keeping our mission alive, we are moving forward with our annual event of providing an opportunity to the Latinx community and the Entertainment industry all with your safety and health in mind.
PLEASE READ INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY – if submitted incorrectly, your tape will not be viewed. We receive hundreds of submissions and cannot notify everyone of their edits, so please follow all of the instructions.
You can submit for up to two roles. One video per role. The Self-tape should begin with a slate of your name, role you’re reading for, and then go into the audition. Please note: Actors will need to provide their own readers for the self-tape.
Actors will send their self-tape auditions via an unlisted downloadable link (Google Drive, DropBox, Vimeo, YouTube, WeTransfer, Hightail) to Communications@nhmc.org.
Subject Line: LSS – First Name, Last Name / ROLE (Ex: LSS – Felicia Mora / TERESA)
Make sure it is a link and NOT a video that needs to be downloaded.
Be sure to exclude a password or permission tied to email addresses. Make the video public as we will be sharing these videos with casting directors and don’t want to have the extra step of requesting access.
Helpful Tips include:
-Use a tight medium frame
-Choose an area with good lighting
-Minimal background noise, and neutral background/backdrop
-Readers should be placed behind the camera/offscreen
-Actors eye-line should interact with the reader, and not directly at camera
-Sides are ok to hold and use as a guide, but not continuous reading – we want to see your performance.
-Clothing: no need to dress fully as the role but mindful (ex. police officer/doctor/judges roles – no need to wear uniform, but also don’t just wear a tank top)
Note: NHMC reserves the right to make adjustments to program schedule as necessary. For any questions, please email showcase@nhmc.org.
