Latinas Unite!
This Friday, September 29th, Latinas Acting Up will be hosting a picket
In solidarity with other Latina striking groups, Latinas Acting Up will meet at the Warner Bros Studios - Gate 3 from 10 am - 12pm this Friday!
Latinas Laborers are the backbone of our industries. From actors to writers, hotel workers, city workers, nurses, auto workers, and more, Latinas Acting Up calls for all striking members to show up in support of the ongoing workers aiming to reach a fair deal.
The picket is organized by Latinas Acting Up, which was co-founded by SAG-AFTRA members and Latina leaders, Diana Maria Riva and NHMC Visionary Alliance member Lisa Vidal.
NHMC Visionary Alliance member Gina Torres posted on her Instagram this week welcoming everyone to come out to show their support. She also gave a special shout out to all the IATSE and Teamsters union members who have been standing in support of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike.
At the upcoming picket, Latinas Acting Up will lend their support to shine a light on the upcoming #LatinaEqualPay Day, which is Thursday, October 5th. Latinas are paid 52 cents, on average, for every $1 a white man is paid, it is time that we demand more! Learn more here about Latina Equal Pay Day.
With the recent deal struck between WGA and AMPTP, and groups like Latinas Acting Up leading the charge, an industry of fair pay is in the near future.
