NHMC Statement on the Passing of Charles Benton

Pasadena, CA -- Yesterday, the Benton Foundation reported that Chairman and Trustee, Charles Benton, passed away. The following can be attributed to Jessica Gonzalez, Executive Vice President and General Counsel of the National Hispanic Media Coalition: "The legacy of Charles Benton will echo throughout history. His accomplishments and distinctions are innumerable. He was a trusted advisor and unwavering ally. He was a pioneer in working towards universal, affordable broadband access, leading to policies that have already begun to connect poor Americans to this critical and life-changing resource. I offer my condolences to his family and colleagues. He will be sorely missed."
