Emmy On-Screen Diversity Takes A Hit With Acting & Hosting Nominations Down 18% From 2024

This week, NHMC’s President and CEO, Brenda Victoria Castillo, released a statement regarding this year's Emmy nominations, which was picked up by Anthony D'Alessandro of Deadline.

“In a time when our existence is being erased, challenged, and attacked, this is a moment to elevate more inclusive and welcoming stories from underrepresented communities – and the actors who are featured in them,” said NHMC president and CEO Brenda Victoria Castillo. “With so many series and projects led by people of color, our Latino community deserves to be seen, heard, and recognized for their excellence. The voting members of the Television Academy fell short this year, with their worst showing for actors of color in the last 5 years.”
