Natalie Wood

Writers' / Showrunners' Assistant
BIO

Natalie Wood is a queer Latina genre writer committed to reimagining coming-of-age stories.
Born and raised in a Texas border town to a Mexican immigrant mother and a white father,
Natalie is familiar with the experience of straddling two different worlds and putting in work in
order to figure out one’s identity. She writes grounded dramas and dramedies that combine
elements of science-fiction, fantasy, and romance and explore themes of identity, self-discovery,
and second chances. She specializes in writing unapologetically messy Latinas as they figure
out who they are and, more importantly, who they want to be.
After graduating from Baylor University and attending the UCLA Professional Program in Writing
for Television, Natalie got her start in entertainment as an NBCUniversal Page. She worked as a
Development Coordinator at Ben Stiller’s production company, Red Hour Films, before
transitioning to a support staff role as a Writers’ Assistant on AppleTV+’s critically-acclaimed
sci-fi thriller, SEVERANCE. She is currently a Writers’ Assistant on Season 11 of NBC’s
CHICAGO FIRE. Natalie was a finalist for the 2022 NBC Launch TV Writers Program and her
script, KILLER QUEEN, won the Television Grand Prize in Final Draft’s 2022 Big Break
Competition.
