July 15, 2022
A Statement from Brenda Victoria Castillo, President & CEO of the National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC)
The National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) congratulates R. Martin “Marty” Chávez for his recent appointment to serve on Fortune #8 Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG) Board of Directors, becoming the first-ever Latino board member for the multinational company, in addition to being a member of LGBTQIA+ community.
NHMC focuses on Latino representation at the Board level, C-Suite positions, and media & tech ownership. While there is much more work to be done, we expect that Alphabet’s appointment paves a new path for corporations to welcome Latino candidates across positions of power, accurately representing the ever-changing and evolving diverse communities of our country.
Yours in the Movement,
Brenda Victoria Castillo
