Your Voice - Hispanic Ethnic Culture & Gender Equality - 9/5/2018

In this episode of Your Voice, host Felicia Mora speaks with two women leaders on Hispanic Culture & Gender Equality. Professor Martha Carreon breaks down the history of Mexican Independence Day, and how the local community is using its significance in a predominately Latinx community to elevate future leaders through scholarships & celebration. Kate Rees Davies, Board Member of Women In Media and the National Association of Multi-Ethnicity in Communication, discusses the importance of being a White ally and pay equity for all women, especially women of color. At NHMC’s KHBG-LP Radio, we believe that our communities must have a voice. Our mission is to give the mic back to the people so you have the power to share and stay connected. What better way than to have a talk show where community leaders have the opportunity to take over the mic to discuss what’s happening in their own communities and share their stories.

Your Mic, Your Voice, Your Community!
