Team Abuelita chronicles a superhero and her team of niños, who save the day from situations including bullies and rival siblings. The winning producers will work with the network’s production team to create their content or fine-tune their existing work before it premieres on BabyFirst for a two-year run. The winners will also fully own the rights to the series and will be entitled to 50% of revenues the series directly generates across platforms other than the BabyFirst network. During the ceremony, Sharon Rechter, EVP, Business Development and Distribution of BabyFirst spoke about how influential the partnership with NHMC has been, and touched upon the impact that the “Rising Creators Project” competition will have for the TV network, who has been devoted to delivering high-quality child development programming to tots and their parents in more than 52 million households. “This contest has demonstrated the great depth of the Latino talent pool which is truly spectacular,” said Alex Nogales, President and CEO of NHMC.
