NHMC Supports California’s Strong Net Neutrality Bill

On April 9, 2018 the National Hispanic Media Coalition’s (NHMC) President & CEO Alex Nogales sent a letter to Senator Scott Wiener in support of California’s Net Neutrality Act, Senate Bill (SB) 822.

The letter states that “Net Neutrality is essential to preserving the Internet as an open platform where Latinos can foster entrepreneurship, engage in authentic storytelling, and promote civic engagement without gatekeepers standing in the way.” SB 822 is “state legislation aimed at protecting consumers” which will help ensure that every Californian “can connect, innovate, and organize online no matter the size of their wallets or color of their skin.”

National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) is a woman-led 501(c)(3) non-profit civil and human rights organization that was founded to eliminate hate, discrimination, and racism toward the Latino communities.
