It’s the Age of Disinformation
Social media companies profit by promoting the worst, most incendiary, most harmful disinformation. The growing disinformation crisis is causing irreparable damage to our democracy and our society — and these companies must take action to fix it before the 2022 midterm elections.
It is entirely within their control to fix what’s wrong with their platforms and change the terms that govern how we use their products. And we’ve made it easy for them by outlining exactly the steps they need to take — but we need your help.
The Change the Terms coalition is demanding that social media companies:
Join us and demand that Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and YouTube stop the spread of hateful, violent, misleading, and false content across languages in the runup to the 2022 elections and beyond. It’s past time for these companies to change the terms.
