National Hispanic Media Coalition Convenes 3rd Annual New York Impact Awards Reception to Honor Local Latino LeadersNEW YORK— On Thursday, November 9 at 6:30 pm, the National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) will honor media professionals based in the New York-area for their leadership and contributions to the Latino community. Honorees are represented on a variety of platforms including print, TV, digital and the non-profit sector. Event Details: WHAT: Reception honoring New York area trailblazers whose achievements, generosity of spirit and courage under fire, have greatly benefited the Latino community. WHO: Honorees include: Gerson Borrero, Editor-at-large for City & State Magazine; Political Editor and Host, HITN; Political Commentator, Spectrum News NY1/NY1 Noticias – Excellence in Media Journalism Kat Lazo, Online Content Creator, and Video Producer, Mitú – Excellence in Online Storytelling Elizabeth Yeampierre, Executive Director, UPROSE – Outstanding Service and Commitment to the Latino Community J. David (Dave) Davis, President, and General Manager, WABC-TV – Outstanding Service and Commitment to the Latino community Jeanine Ramirez, reporter for Spectrum News NY1 and former NHMC Impact Award recipient, will emcee the event. Past NHMC Impact Award recipients include: Jeanine Ramirez (NY1 News), Joe Torres (WABC-TV), Lynda Baquero (NBC 4 New York), Esteban Creste (Univision 41), and former Commissioner of the New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, Cynthia López. The event gathers over 150 local industry leaders. NHMC’s title reception sponsor is Google.
