The Washington, D.C. Impact Awards Reception, convened by the National Hispanic Media Coalition each year, recognizes policymakers and influencers that are working to bridge the digital divide and advocating for policies that protect Latinos and other people of color. Reception guests have included commissioners of the Federal Communication Commission, members of Congress, and leaders of non-profit organizations.
Honors presented by NHMC at the reception have included Outstanding Public Service and Outstanding Advocate.

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, U.S. Representative and first Somali-American Member State Legislator, and one of the first two Muslim-American women elected to Congress – Outstanding Public Service
Congressman Joaquin Castro, U.S. Representative and serves on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, the House Committee on Education and Labor, and also serves as Vice-Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee – Outstanding Public Service
