NHMC's Michael Scurato to Testify Before Congress on Fair Broadcast Ownership Rules

Mike Washington, D.C. 9/24/15 — This Friday, Michael Scurato, Vice President of Policy for the National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC), will testify before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce, Subcommittee on Communications and Technology. The hearing will focus on media ownership rules and the present state of the media marketplace. The hearing, entitled “Broadcast Ownership in the 21st Century,” will begin at 9:30 a.m. EDT. E&CDuring his testimony, Scurato will bring attention to the impact of increasing media consolidation on the Latino community. NHMC has long championed diversity in media ownership and has called for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to ensure opportunities exist for minority and female broadcast owners.
