NHMC Joins Public Interest Advocates in Asking FCC to Increase Ownership Diversity

In our country that prizes freedom of expression, media play a crucial role in fostering civic discourse and informing the electorate. Broadcast television and radio remain the chief sources of critical civic news and information for millions of Americans, and the Commission’s media ownership rules safeguard competition, localism and diversity in that medium. The groups support the FCC's 'proposal to retain existing ownership rules', but asks the FCC to consider increasing ownership diversity. https://www.nhmc.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Public-Interest-Advocates-QR2014-NBCO-Letter-1.pdf]]>
