NHMC Asks Congress to Protect Consumer Privacy

On January 27, NHMC joined 18 other media justice, consumer protection, civil liberties, and privacy groups in asking Congress to oppose the use of the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to overturn the FCC’s recent broadband privacy order.

The FCC’s order was adopted late last year empowers consumers with more choice in deciding how their Internet Service Providers (ISPs) can collect and share personal information. In the letter, groups argue that use of the CRA to overturn these important protections would preclude the FCC from creating similar rules in the future.
