Co-Host General Job Description: WCIU-TV, The U gives Chicago a fresh new start to the day with The Jam TV show. Our stations morning show airs weekdays 6am-8am. Bold and unfiltered, The Jam features a combination of local and national headlines, unique weather coverage and dedication to the Chicagoans who make the city and surrounding suburbs great. We are looking for an enthusiastic new co-host to join our team and participate in the creative cycle of our broadcast. Duties/Responsibilities: As a co-host, you will work closely with producers to gather create content for on-air and digital media. You will be responsible for interviewing guests for live and taped segments. Ultimately, you should be able to follow current events and present stories to audiences in an informative, interesting, fun and engaging way. Revise scripts and prepare to deliver them on-air Attend pre and post-show meetings daily, prepared with ideas and constructive feedback
Requirements: A Bachelors degree and Top 10 Market experience preferred Must be a team player. Must be an early riser. Our meetings start at 4 AM! The ability to write for TV is very important. Familiarity with Chicago and the surrounding area is required. Knowledge of news, pop culture, movies, and music are important along with creativity and an insatiable curiosity. Strong comfort level with social media also a must. Must be flexible with your time. You will be asked to shoot in the evenings on occasion. Must be willing to use your personal/professional contacts to book guests for the show. No hot heads allowed, being cool under pressure is a must.
