Quantifying Hate Speech on Commerical Talk Radio November 8, 2011 A Pilot Study, UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center A ground-breaking study was released by the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center and the National Hispanic Media Coalition aiming to quantify hate speech on commercial talk radio. On November 8 the study was released with a panel discussion between UCLA and Cal State LA professors on the findings followed by a press conference. Click here to read the full report. NHMC Protest Against "The John and Ken Show" October 13, 2011 The National Hispanic Media Coalition and its allies held a peaceful demonstration in front of the KFI 640 AM building, a Clear Channel station, in protest to the stations’ patronage of hate speech targeting Latinos during the “John and Ken Show.” The demonstration and a press conference was held at 3400 W. Olive St. Burbank, CA 91505 at 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, October 13, 2011. |
