In its 20th year, the NHMC Impact Awards Gala recognizes the outstanding achievements and contributions to the positive portrayals of Latinos in media. Past honorees include Robert Rodriguez, Michelle Rodriguez, America Ferrera, James Cameron, Lana Parrilla, George Lopez, Cesar Millan, Zoe Saldana, Mario Lopez, Gina Torres, Rosario Dawson, and the late Lupe Ontiveros. The black tie affair gathers 500 industry influencers. The 2017 Impact Awards Gala will take place on February 24.
In its 14th year, the NHMC Los Angeles Impact Awards Luncheon recognizes local talent and community leaders in the second largest designated market area (DMA) in the country – Los Angeles. Past award recipients include: Art Laboe, Ruben Luenguas, Jaime Jarrín, Sam Rubin, Ana Garcia, Big Boy, Laura Diaz and Vikki Vargas. The event gathers 220 local industry leaders. The 2016 Los Angeles Impact Awards Luncheon took place on September 8.
The second annual NHMC New York Impact Awards Reception took place on October 6 at Google’s New York Chelsea Market Space. The Impact Awards Reception recognizes local talent in the largest designated market area in the country – New York.
The Latino Scene Showcase features scenes written by NHMC TV Writers Program alumni and performed by Latino actors for a select group or network and industry executives. The event gathers 200 television and film executives, agents, and managers in Los Angeles, CA. The 2016 Latino Scene Showcase took place on November 9.
In its 7th year, the NHMC Washington, D.C. Impact Awards Reception recognized policymakers that are making a difference in bridging the digital divide and providing consumer policies that protect Latinos and other people of color. Past honorees include FCC Commissioners Clyburn, Copps and Rosenworcel, Senator Menendez, Congresswoman Roybal-Allard, Congressman Lujan, and ZGS Communications. The 2016 Washington, D.C. Impact Awards Reception took place on November 30.
