NHMC's Washington, D.C. Impact Awards Reception November 14, 2012
NHMC celebrated its annual Washington, D.C. Impact Awards Reception on December 14th at the National Association of Broadcasters’ headquarters. During the celebration, Senator Robert Menendez and Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard were honored with Impact Awards for their outstanding service and commitment to the Latino community.

Between the two of them are decades of public service, including almost 40 years of service in the U.S. Congress. We are pleased to offer them our thanks and recognition,” comments Alex Nogales, President & CEO of NHMC. “Our work in Washington, D.C. would be that much more difficult without the friendly ears and open doors of leaders like Senator Menendez and Congresswoman Roybal-Allard. We are looking forward to continuing to work with both of them in the future,” adds Jessica Gonzalez, Vice President of Policy & Legal Affairs of NHMC. The National Association of Broadcasters, Google, Fox Deportes, Fox Broadcasting Company, Fox Audience Strategies, MundoFOX, and Entravision Communications Corporation were all reception sponsors. A number of other donors also provided generous support for the event. Their tax-deductible gifts to the National Hispanic Media Coalition, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, support NHMC’s mission.

NHMC's 25th Anniversary Impact Awards Reception Washington, D.C. December 5, 2011
NHMC celebrated its 25th anniversary at the National Association of Broadcasters' headquarters in Washington D.C.. During the celebration, Federal Communications Commissioners Mignon L. Clyburn and Michael J. Copps were recipients of Impact Awards recognizing their commitment to the public interest. "Advocating for public policy that benefits Latinos is an important part of NHMC's mission. Commissioners of the caliber of Commissioners Clyburn and Copps -- who are willing to do what it takes to defend the underserved people in our country against giant corporations -- are invaluable in the defense of the public interest. I'm honored to recognize their efforts on behalf of NHMC," comments Alex Nogales, President and CEO of the National Hispanic Media Coalition. "Working in DC to defend public policy that favors the underprivileged is an ongoing David against Goliath battle. Commissioners Clyburn and Copps have time and time again shown their unbreakable commitment to the public interest. Public servants who fight for the little guy are priceless.
